Slough Town Football Club Arbour Park Stoke Road Slough Berkshire SL2 5AY
About This Event
On a Thursday night in November, men of all ages sat down together at Arbour Park, home of Slough Town Football Club, for an evening of honest conversation about mental health, fatherhood and the pressure that comes with being a man.
Naroop, host of The Dad Project podcast, led the night. The four speakers talked about gambling addiction, the weight of debt, living with disability, and the belief that you alone are responsible for holding your family together.
Some of it was hard to hear. What stayed with people was that every man on that stage had been through it, found a way forward, and wanted to show the room how.
When the formal part finished, nobody rushed off. The speakers and hosts stayed behind to talk one to one with anyone who wanted to share their own story, or just ask a question away from everyone else.
The Changing Room was our first event with Slough Town FC and Slough Town in the Community. We hope it's the first of many.
Thank you to the club for opening its doors, to everyone who came, and to the four men who stood up and spoke.
