Ravi doesn't turn up with a lighting kit and start shooting.
He grew up in London, across more than one culture, and that shows in how he works: patient, watchful, paying attention to what doesn't announce itself straight away. Before he picks up a camera, he wants to know the person in front of him, not just how they look.
Every portrait is built with intention. The light, the props, the way someone's sitting, all chosen to say something true rather than something flattering. That's why the portraits he's shot for this project don't feel staged. They feel like proof that someone was actually seen.
